Constantin: First of all I don’t just believe in any personality type - but the one I used (INFJ/Jung Typology) has led even the most stubborn non-believer on this topic to “shut up” when they saw their own results. That’s my, urm, empirical evidence if you will.
Empowering? Well stop imagining “type” as discrete categories, but rather a series of characteristics in a circle along which different people have different dominant characteristics. We are never “never will be that type.” It just brings out the dominant traits of everyone. That’s why I 99% believe it.

Constantin: I cannot speak for the “males” for obvious reason.
For women, I suppose what you say is true. I can only say from past experience, in which case I experienced “true love” - and yes, I believe my whole world suddenly seemed “brighter.”
Because we’re always searching for a partner even when we’re not. And when you find your “lover” the “discovery” absolutely affects you in every way.
It makes you unafraid of what’s coming. So we do everything “with love.”

Of course. Birthdays are just another day of the year, but as you said, it can be seen as a reminder to revise how far we’ve come, where we are at and where we want to be.

Anyway, a double question for you: what scientific/empirical evidence lead to your (seemingly positive) opinion of personality type indicators? Is it limiting or empowering to be sorted into a “type”?

I absolutely love the last paragraph.

Now, about another “central passion”: I’ve heard somewhere that when a woman is in love, that feeling is so dominant in her mind that she does everything “with love”, whereas with a man it is a temporary feeling which easily slips out of mind when he is working, for example.
What do you think about that?

I won’t regret anything if I was hit by a truck tomorrow.

I definitely want to feel like that when I turn 20. But my “things to do before I die” list never seems to get any shorter.

On a theoretical level I think birthdays really shouldn’t be treated as special occasions, but deep inside I know how hard it is to NOT think about what you’ve accomplished, and mostly of what you’ve FAILED to accomplish each year.
