Always Meant To Be

The journey with M goes on.

I have decided to take time away with Hans because even as a friend, surprisingly I have begun to feel a bit uncomfortable last night. I know he will never do anything to me, but in my mind M is still the one I care the most.

A few days ago I realized that as young adults and couples, especially during dating & relationships, we should never expect too much - not to be pessimistic, but for the sake that expectation of “boyfriend” roles puts us girls into a lot of disappointment, where the guy should provide us with happiness, security, love and a possible future but isn’t.
Thinking about it: M is M. He is just a guy, who I happened to like. Even in an exclusive relationship, it does not mean that he is responsible for my happiness, well-being and financial stability. Most guys are willing to offer the last item because money can be earned again. But the first two are reserved for the One.

Now we’re like two primary kids who enjoy playing with each other, and just like seeing each other at each other’s place after uni and work. We are innocent. We do not plan and lay the future out in front of our eyes and make it a five-year project that eventually has to progress.
It is the simplicity of Square One, but with all the benefits and privileges: we treasure this friendship feeling more than the complicatedness of romantic relationships.

Childhood friends compares to nothing.
Listen to lovers say, “We were always meant for each other.”
